TRANSLATION INTERN (SPANISH AS THIRD LANGUAGE) NEEDED



Translation Intern (Spanish as third language)


Expert Versions is seeking a Translation Intern for a six months internship which could lead to full time employment. The candidate must be based in Douala- Cameroon and available to start work within the month of July 2019 and will be working for about 4 to 6 hours daily. The Intern is responsible for providing Translation services for content which will be disseminated through a variety of channels, print, digital, web, video and others as assigned.


Duties & Responsibilities


The intern will work under the supervision of the Director of Translation & Content. Responsibilities include the following:


Reads through or listens to material in one language, ascertains understanding of the meaning and context of that material, and converts it into a second language, making sure to preserve the original meaning

Translates online, video, and television media by providing subtitles

Consults with subject matter experts and other colleagues in order to understand specialised concepts and translate them appropriately

Refers to online translation tools for additional assistance with translation

Follows up with clients to ensure satisfaction and understanding

Uses highly specialised translation software to encourage efficiency and consistency

Translates a variety of documents including administrative, legal, research, technical, financial, medical and business materials

creates glossaries or term dictionaries

Translator Skills and Qualifications


Atleast a Bachelor’s degree in translation

Fluency in at Least Two Languages with Spanish as third language

Written and Verbal Communication

Interpersonal Communication, Accuracy, Attention to Detail

Software Proficiency,

Ability to Meet Deadlines,

Ability to Work Under Pressure

The ability to grasp new concepts and technical terms quickly

A clear writing style with an impeccable knowledge of spelling and grammar

The ability to build good relationships with clients.
